Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Diploma in Child Health (DCH), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science, Grad Dip Public Health, Master of Project Management, Bachelors, Masters and PhD (Nutrition).

After dabbling in a range of professions, my passion for lifelong learning led me to do medicine. I completed my medical degree from Flinders University, graduating in 2012. I went on to do my internship at Flinders Medical Centre. I chose to do my residency at Lyell McEwen Hospital to get a better appreciation of different demographics in Adelaide.

Prior to embarking on my journey in Medicine, I obtained postdoctoral qualifications in gut health at the CSIRO Division of Nutrition. I have extensive research experience having worked for several years as a researcher with Faulding Pharmaceuticals in developing their herbal product range “Cenovis” and doing environmental research for the Australian Wine Industry. I had a brief academic stint at the University of South Australia delivering courses to post graduate students in Project Management.

The move to Medicine and the training to become a GP was the best decision I made as I now feel that I have finally found my vocation. I had already decided very early in my medical career that General Practice was the only specialty I was interested in and my passion for it remains unchanged. The varied nature of general practice and the ability to form long-term and enduring relationships with patients, sometimes across generations, is a great motivator for me. I am committed to delivering world class, excellent primary care and am always looking for additional ways to help my patients to improve their health and prevent and treat their medical conditions.

I enjoy seeing patients of all ages and backgrounds across the breadth of general practice. I have special interests in:

  • Chronic disease management

  • Preventative care

  • Women’s health

  • Breast Health: I work as a Specialist Breast GP with breast surgeons at Western Breast Clinic assisting their patients in their post breast cancer journey. This role focuses on assisting women in managing the side effects of their treatment/s.

  • Metabolic health

  • Bone health

I have completed additional training in:

  • Menopause management, especially in the period of menopausal transition (from 40-50 years). I am a member of the Australian Menopause Society and regularly keep abreast of the developments via conferences and webinars.

  • With my background in Nutrition, I follow low carb eating for general metabolic health and advocate its benefits for the management of diabetes and weight. I am a member of the Low Carb Down Under group.

  • Obesity management

Some procedures that I offer include Implanon insertion and removal, mirena removals, iron infusions and basic procedures in the diagnosis of skin lesions.

I am available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays: 7.30am to 5.30pm (Break 12.30-1.30pm) and Saturday 9.30am to 3pm.

When not at work I enjoy exercising, reading and long walks with my dog.
