At Western Hospital GP Clinic, we’re committed to providing clear and accessible information. If your question isn’t answered here, please don’t hesitate to contact our friendly team for further assistance.

  • Do you accept new patients?
    Yes, we welcome new patients. Please contact us to arrange your first appointment and transfer your medical records if required.
  • Can I book an appointment online?
    Yes, you can book appointments online through the AMS Connect platform or by contacting our reception team directly.
  • What fees apply at the clinic?
    Our clinic is a fee-paying practice, with discounted rates for concession card holders and children aged 12-16. Full payment is required at the time of consultation, and Medicare rebates are available.
  • Do you offer after-hours care?
    An after-hours Doctor Service is available. The Home Doctor Service can be contacted on 13 7425 after 6pm on weeknights, all day Saturday and Sunday and public holidays.
  • What is your policy on repeat prescriptions?
    Repeat prescriptions, including sick certificates and referrals, require a consultation with your doctor for safe and effective care.
  • Can I get test results over the phone?
    Test results must be discussed with your doctor during a follow-up appointment. This ensures accurate interpretation and appropriate care.
  • Do you offer emergency appointments?
    If you consider your problem to be an emergency, please let our receptionist know. If you need immediate medical attention you should call 000 for ambulance attendance.
  • Can I bring my child for immunisations?
    Absolutely. Our Practice Nurse and Doctors work together to provide immunisations and ensure your child’s records stay up to date through our recall system. Don’t forget to bring your child’s blue book to each visit.
  • Do I need to book an appointment, or can I walk in?
    Our clinic operates on an appointment-only basis. Please call or book online to schedule your visit with our Doctors.
  • Can I get a prescription over the phone?
    In some cases, your regular GP may be able to issue a prescription over the phone. Please note this service may incur a fee. For more details, speak with our friendly reception team.
  • How do you handle patient privacy?
    We strictly adhere to privacy laws, ensuring your health and personal information are managed securely and confidentially.
